Cartoonist Will Work for IOU’s

Saturday, July 18th, 2009

will-work-for-foodMany of you in BNI have received cartoons from me as part of my seven minute cartoon ritual during your presentation.  Most of the jokes I come up with while you are speaking and I try to make them topical to the subject matter of your presentation.

This last month the United States Treasury’s Bureau of National Debt had issued a request for bid out the world of cartoonists to perform on the spot cartoons for the low self esteem employees of the Bureau.  Yours truly actually considered the idea to bid since this is what I do most every day.  How ever Yahoo reported in this article that the whole idea was scratched since a congress person did not see the value in raising the moral of the people having to issue out I.O.U.’s to other countries.  Plus I would have demanded money up front since you know the Bureau of National Debt is in the hole, I gotsta get paid!

Here’s the  Yahoo story about the Bureau of National Debt.

Fourth of July

Monday, July 6th, 2009

My fourth of July was a blast.  First we started off at the Fillmore Jazz Festival where we saw a couple stages of music and I had 48oz of beer.  We had pizza a Dino’s then went to Russian Hill for ice cream.  Then up to the roof at my buddy Matt’s place to watch firework that were being performed at Fisherman’s Warf.  we had a pretty clear view all the way to Sausilito and we saw thier show too.

Here’s a photo I took with my phone from the Fillmore.

Here is a photo from my buddy Jason’s camera during the fire works show.  I think it was armageddon on Russian Hill.

New Pages to Rackafracka

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

I’d like to announce a new page to Rackafracka.  The new page is Cartoons for Business page.  I added this because more and more I’ve been asked to do custom cartoons for business marketing such as newsletters, direct mail, email marketing, websites, advertisements and more.  On this page I’ve began to put together many of the business cartoons together by subject so that it will be easier for people that are interested in using Rackafracka for their business message to find the right one.  I’ll be adding to this page regularly so please browse around.

If you know any business that is interested in using humor to spread their company message please refer them to this page on my site.

Thank you

Rackafracka is looking for guest strip submissions to fill in for a week in June while I’m on vacation.  You don’t have to be a cartoonist to submit either!  You can be a fan of Rackafracka to submit as well.  If there is particular Rackafracka strip that you liked and you want to put your own fan spin on it please do!

I prefer that the submissions be single panel strips and square in nature.  Also please color them.  Along with the submission please write a short bio on yourself and your website if you wish  which will be posted in Frickafracka (my blog) with a link to your website.

The submissions that get picked will get their bio posted on Frickafrack with a link to their website.  In addition all the winning submissions will be put into the Rackafracka newsletter which goes out monthly to all registered readers.

Please email all your submissions to fritz@fritzcartoons.com.  All submissions need to be in by June 15th to be considered.

Old Tom Foolery Indeed

Saturday, April 11th, 2009

old-tom-fooleryLast night I had the great pleasure of meeting and having a conversation with the owners of a online greeting card company called Old Tom Foolery.  Owners Joel Gryniewski and Lauren Weinblatt (future Minnesotans)humored me over drinks at the Edinburgh Castle Pub discussing letter press printing.  I met them through a friend of mine and huge insane mega-fan of Rackafracka cartoons Matt Cella.  We were celebrating Good Friday by having fish and chips and beer (praise the Lord).  At Old Tom Foolery they have a wide variety of humorous greeting cards for all occations.  These cards are very unique and can’t be find in the bowels of a grocery store chain.  Please check them out.

Seasonal Work

snowman-fallingBob Frost lost his job at the icicle factory a couple months ago due to the economic down turn.  The first month of living off the government went fine but then he thought he might be able to put what he knew about snow into good use and open a snowball retail business.  He went to his basement and found the biggest box he could find.  He tipped it over and with a magic marker he drew his sign on the box.  It wasn’t long before the whole town was coming to Frost for all their snowball needs.  “There are a million household uses!”  Frost was once heard saying to a elderly woman.

Soon competition rolled into the neighborhood.  Phillip Ice Chest had found his own box in his own basement and had his own sign.  Worst of all he had his own lawyer Daniel Pennypinch esq.  Mr. Pennypinch first came to the Frost’s store and demanded that Mr. Frost sign a non-compete agreement and close his doors right away.  Then after threats with a blow dryer when Mr. Frost agreed and signed the non-compete, Mr. Pennypinch handed Mr. Frost with a bill for the time it took to service this agreement.

It never occurred to Mr. Frost to throw a snowball at Mr. Pennypinch.

Nintendo World 1:2

My buddy Matt loses at a simple Nintendo DS game. We left in shame after he lost.

My buddy Matt loses at a simple Nintendo DS game. We left in shame after he lost.

At a secret location in the Mission District in San Francisco Nintendo held a secret invitation only event Saturday night.  I wasn’t even one of the lucky one’s to have been selected to get an invite.  I was one of the guests who were invited by the “chosen ones” as they like to call themselves.  With a DJ mixing it up with sounds from the video games playing on the flat screen TV’s, the “chosen one’s” plus guests huddled around each other while trying out new games that have not been released by Nintendo.  One of which was the highlight of the event and that was the remake boxing game called Punch Out.

With a paddle in both hands I watched myself get beat by Mr. Glass.  An very embarrassing feat as I later learned Mr. Glass was the easiest guy in the game to beat.  I found myself yelling at the TV and I watched my character get his ass beat by a animated french boxer weighing in at a buck ten.  Then my friend Matt got up who knew all the cheat codes and beat the demo version without getting even one blow landed on his character.  Stupid cheat codes.  Cheat codes or not Punch Out is a must have for Nintendo Wii owners.  Its a lot more fun that boxing with a directional pad or boxing for real for that matter.

The other game they had featured at Nintendo World 1:2 was Excitebots Trick Racing which was a thrill to play as well.  With our steering wheel control pad you would drive your souped up lady bug or frog around various tracks doing stunts and tricks off big jumps.  My buddy Matt again knew all the cheat codes to this game as well and he beat me.  But if you play someone that doesn’t know how to cheat then it could be a real fun game.

It was a good time going to the secret party held by Nintendo.  It mixed all the things I like about video games.  Except there was no beer and the games were on demo mode and you couldn’t play beyond a certain point.
